The design of the Parish Center addition for St. Matthias Catholic Church provides a welcoming new visual identity and entrance to the existing church campus from Burrell Street. Inside the building, visitors are greeted by a new light and airy lobby space that features areas for displays and exhibits with a library opening off to the side. A warm and inviting new chapel is the focal point at one end of the lobby drawing visitors in for reflection and worship. Radiating off of the lobby space are two wings. The administrative wing houses office and conference spaces for the parish along with a new meditation garden courtyard. The classroom wing houses eight new classrooms / meeting room spaces, a youth room, and offices. This wing provides direct connection to the existing multipurpose hall building with its new, enlarged, and remodeled kitchen and garage space.
