la banque hotel

The La Banque Hotel transformed the historical Homewood State Bank into a boutique hotel and restaurant while preserving the property’s historical integrity.

The section of the building dating back to 1925 hosts the hotel's restaurant, La Voûte Bistro, which was designed around a modern French Bistro concept that laces in gems from the original bank. The transition between hotel and restaurant occurs at the vault’s original gate which was re-purposed as a screen wall dividing the hotel and restaurant. A main feature of the restaurant is the bank vault and its massive pneumatic door. As guests move through the space, they encounter more subtle hints of the property’s history as safety deposit boxes decorate the back bar and host desk.

The existing coffered ceiling and mahogany paneled columns were preserved in the bank’s lobby, and the reception desk is accented with re-purposed safety deposit boxes. The hotel experience continues to the upper level guest room corridor of white trimmed walls accented with oversized floral prints, which put a modern spin on traditional French Toile patterns. Entering any of the 18 unique guest rooms reveals classic furniture and lush finishes.
