LaVoute Bistro and Bar
The historical Homewood State Bank was transformed into a modern boutique hotel and restaurant, while maintaining the property’s historical integrity. Great care was taken to preserve and reuse original features, such as the vault door and safety deposit boxes.
The transition between hotel and restaurant occurs at the vault original gate, which was re-purposed as a screen wall dividing the hotel and restaurant. A main feature of the restaurant is the bank vault and it's massive pneumatic door. The vault room houses a breakfast buffet in the morning and a private chef's table during dinner service. As guests move through the space, they encounter more subtle hints of the property’s history, as safety deposit boxes decorate the back bar and host desk.
The historic elements blend seamlessly with modern design touches. Examples are evident in the patterned floor tile, minimalist light fixtures, unique dining chairs, and deluxe finishes that are used throughout the space. These touches elevate the French Bistro concept to one that is more befitting of the grandeur of this historic building.
